LIVING ROOM MAKEOVER PLANS
Moodboard for the new living room scheme
So the next room I’m making over in my house is the living room. It’s a perfectly liveable space as is, but definitely needs a bit of refinement.
Here’s some pics of the space as it is at the moment.
The key plans I’ve got for this room at the moment are:
change the flooring (it’s original floorboard as is, but they’re quite dark and uneven)
re-paint the walls (it’s not the lightest, brightest room, so I’m moving away from actual white to something a little bit more taupe to lean into this a little bit more). This room will be part of my collab for this year with Earthborn Paints, and so far I’m working with a combo of Donkey Ride and Little Rascal.
re-arrange the space (at the moment, our tv is wedged in a small corner, but I’d like to get a freestanding tv that means we can change where it sits)
Built in storage under stairs (this house needs a little more storage, especially for coats and shoes, so we’re planning panelled storage under the stairs)
Change blinds for curtains (we were considering shutters, but they’d definitely eat too much light up from these windows even when they were open)
Living room sketch
This is a quick sketch of the new living room layout. We’re hoping to change a few key bits of furniture and embrace warm neutrals with interesting shapes silhouetted against.
Deadline-wise, I want this all ready for Christmas decorating in early December - so lots and lots to sort!
